Chhattisgarh Congress has taken a jibe at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government in the State after Deputy Chief Arun Sao had indicated that the civic bodies elections would be conducted through Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in State.
In his statement, Chairman of Communication Department of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Sushil Anand Shukla said that there is an atmosphere against the BJP Government in the entire State and so due to fear, the BJP Government has decided to conduct the civic bodies elections through the EVMs.
The BJP knows that without
EVMs it cannot win any election. The BJP Government in the State first decided to conduct the local body elections through ballot paper. It is changing its decision for conducting the civic bodies elections through the EVMs. The BJP is nervous about the elections. The decision to conduct elections through EVMs came after the meeting of the BJP Core Group, which means there was a discussion in the meeting that BJP cannot win the elections. Hence the decision was taken to conduct elections through the EVMs, he added.
