Crackdown on illegal drug

Following directives from Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, a joint operation targeting the illegal trade of narcotic drugs was conducted on Friday, in Raipur. A combined team of 12 drug inspectors and 14 police personnel, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, and constables, inspected 25 medical stores across the city. The inspection revealed that 11 shops were selling narcotic drugs without proper sales documentation. Legal action is being taken against these establishments under the Drug Act.
 
The following medical stores were found to have irregularities related to drug regulations: Sumit Medical Stores, Pachpedi Naka, Maa Bhavani Medical Stores, Gudhiyari, Ganpati Medical Stores, Gudhiyari, Royal Medical Stores, Mathpurena, Satkar Medical Stores, Fafadih, Master Medical Stores, Fafadih, Sagar Medical Stores, Birgaon, Laxmi Medical Stores, Kharora, Chhaya Medical Stores, Bhaisa Arang, Shri Ram Medical Stores, Kaulashpuri Tikrapara and Rishi Medical Stores, Santoshi Nagar. Notices have been issued to these stores, seeking explanations for the observed irregularities. Further action will be taken based on the responses received. This operation follows a previous joint investigation on December 2, 2024, involving 30 shops, which resulted in the cancellation of two medical store licenses and the suspension of 12 others. Authorities are also mandating the installation of CCTV cameras in all medical stores throughout the district.
