Excise Department seizes 80 litres of illicit liquor, 1,225 kg of raw material

 

The Excise Department raided different locations in Kuchbandhiya Mohalla and seized 80 litres of illicit liquor and 1,225 kilograms of raw materials under the jurisdiction of Katangi police station, on Friday. Under the directives of Collector Deepak Saxena, Excise Department conducted a special campaign to curb the illegal production, sale, storage and transportation of liquor in the district.

 

Led by Assistant Excise Commissioner Ravindra Manikpuri and Control Room In-charge Parmanand Korche, the operation resulted in the seizure of 80 liters of hand-distilled liquor and approximately 1,225 kilograms of Mahua Lahan (raw material) from various locations. The estimated value of the seized items is Rs 1,34,500. During the operation, a total of 8 cases were registered under Sections 34(1)(a) and 34(1)(ch) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act, 1915. Excise Sub-Inspectors Praveen Warkade and Rupali Jain, along with Excise Head Constable and Constables were present during the operation.
