Staff Reporter
The Lions Club of Nagpur Heritage recently conducted an initiative of distributing 150 neckguards ahead of Makar Sankranti at Sakkardara Police Station, in the presence of Anil Taksande, Senior Police Inspector. The club has been conducting the initiative for the last five years.
Mrudula Hedau, Lions Club President, highlighted the dangers of nylon manja in her speech and explained that when manja breaks during kite flying, it gets entangled on roads, trees, and electric poles, and children often run onto the streets to catch the kite, putting themselves in danger. Two-wheeler riders also get caught in the manja, leading to severe injuries.
To address this issue, as a gesture of social service and humanity, the Lions Club of Nagpur Heritage distributed neckguards to staff members of the Sakkardara Police Station.
Madhukar Toole, Assistant Police Sub-Inspector; Vijaya Waindeshkar, Secretary; Smita Revatkar, Treasurer; Sameer Pandit, Zone Chairperson; Vivek Vaidya, Club Administrator; Pramod Hedau, Public Relations Officer, along with Gajendra Hada, Sunil Chaudhary, Siddharth Meshram, Anju Meshram, and others were also present.
