THE Principal Accountant General (PAG), Nagpur hockey team finished runners-up in the recently concluded All India Guru Govind Singhji Gold and Silver Cup Hockey Tournament, which was held at Nanded. In the final, PAG, Nagpur lost to Army XI, Jalandhar 3-4 via shoot-out after both the teams were locked at 2-2. PAG, Nagpur’s Raushan Kumar was awarded the player of the tournament, Satwik, best full back and Akshay the best goalkeeper of the tournament. In the league stages, PAG, Nagpur beat Patiala 1-0 Sufiana Hockey Club, Amravati 5-0 and drew with Orange City, Nagpur 1-1 to top Group C. In the quarter-finals PAG, Nagpur beat SGPC Amritsar 3-0 and then ousted SAI Excellency, Aurangabad 2-0. Dinesh Patil (IA&AS), Director General of Regional Capacity Building and Knowledge Institute, Nagpur felicitated the team and appreciated the hard work done by the players and wished them success in future tournaments. PV Kale and Sanjay Gaikwad, Senior Audit Officers along with staff members were present on the occasion. PAG Nagpur Team was led by Raushan, while other players of the team were Akshay, Satwik, Ganesh Patil, Alvin Alexander, Jiteesh, Ravins Jaiswal, Parmod, Sagar Nanda, Sandeep Nagrurkar, Tiras Kumar, Aamid Khanpathan, Salim Sayyad, Avesh Ansari, Govind Sharma, Sanjay Gulane, Rahil Mohammad and Parvez Qureshi.
