In a shocking incident on Friday morning, two tigers were spotted by people who were on a morning walk in the Chandanpura area of Bhopal. According to eyewitnesses, as the tigers were crossing the road, a Scorpio vehicle swerved to avoid hitting them, resulting in a crash.
Following the incident, social activist Rashid Noor Khan immediately tried to contact the District Forest Officer (DFO) and the Forest Department, but his calls went unanswered. Meanwhile, in the nearby Capital
Project area, the tiger managed to kill a cow. People at the scene took photos and recorded the tiger paw prints. Chandanpura lies within a tiger movement zone, where over 22 tigers are frequently sighted. Despite this, the municipal corporation has installed streetlights in the area, and more than 400 dumpers pass through it daily. Rashid Noor Khan expressed concern, stating that despite multiple complaints, no measures have been taken to stop non-forest activities in the area. This negligence has increased the risk of human-wildlife conflict, and Khan urged the Forest Department and local authorities to take immediate action to prevent any further incidents.
