“Inculcate self-discipline to instill the sense of responsibility, cultivate good habits and ensure consistent progress,” said General Manoj Pande PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC (Retd), former Chief of Army Staff during the 26th Annual Day function of Bhonsala Military School (BMS) and 1st Annual Day Parade of Bhonsala Sainik School (BSS) here on Saturday.
Chief Guest Gen Pande, in his speech, applauded the efforts of the Ramdandees (cadets) and the school management. While inspiring the students, Gen Pande said, “Cherish your time at the school and make the most of it, dream big, work hard with dedication and commitment to achieve your goals.”
He concluded his speech by appreciating and complimenting the management, Ramdandees, staff for organising the Annual Day in a splendid manner.
The function started with a ceremonial parade. It was commanded by Agreem Koparekar, School Captain. The parade comprised of four armed columns, two unarmed columns, one band contingent, 17 horses and Nishan Toli. The ceremonial parade was followed by an aeromodelling show, using aircraft models designed and controlled by the Ramdandees. This was followed by Rifle drill, Gymnastics and Lezim performance.
Scintillating horse riding demonstration by Ramdandees was applauded by the dignitaries and audience.
The riding demonstration was followed by the performance of the Bhonsala Brass band and pipe and drum band. Col Amarendra Hardas (Retd), Commandant of the school presented the school report.
In the prize distribution function -- Dhruv Ghokhande (Best Rider), Nayan Kumare (Best Shooter), Agreem Koparekar (Best in Drill), Sanchit Kuthare (Best in Pipe band), Moonje Bhavan (Best Bhavan Trophy), Swami Vivekanand Company (Champion Company), Rudra Chatterjee (Best Ramdandee Trophy; Military School), Sundaram Kumar (Best Ramdandee Trophy; Sainik School) -- were felicitated.
Suryaratan Daga, Chairman, CHME Society, Nagpur Division; Rahul Dixit, Secretary, CHME Society, Nagpur Division; Shailesh Joglekar, Chairman, BMS; Col Amarendra Hardas (Retd), Commandant, BMS; Hemant Deshpande, General Secretary Governing Board, CHMES, Nashik; Ajay Shirke, Head Master, BMS, Nagpur; Dr J S Riar, Principal, BSS, Nagpur also shared the dais. Premchand Khadsinge, teacher and Shilpa Malhar, Student Counsellor conducted the proceedings.
