Collector Deepak Saxena conducted a rigorous inspection of paddy procurement centres in Sihora, Majholi, Patan and Shahpura areas, on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Additional Collector, Nathuram Goud, Joint Collector, Pushpendra Ahke, SDMs of the respective areas, and officials associated with procurement activities.
The visit began with an inspection of the Shiv Kripa Warehouse and procurement center in Sihora. During the inspection, it was found that paddy belonging to Shri Balram Patel, classified as non-FAQ (Fair Average Quality) by the surveyor, was improperly stored in government sacks without proper tagging and was underweight. Taking serious note, Collector Saxena instructed officials to form an inquiry team for a thorough investigation. He directed the committee manager to rectify the issue immediately, warning of disciplinary action for further negligence. He emphasized that acceptance notices for dry paddy, excluding wet paddy, should be issued promptly.
The center has procured 38,529.60 quintals of paddy from 591 farmers, of which 34,111.673 quintals have been transported. To date, 57% of the procured paddy at this center has received acceptance notices.
At Majholi, Collector Saxena inspected the Jyoti Warehouse under the Lamkana Service Cooperative Society located in Talad. Here, he found that paddy belonging to Shivdayal was rejected as non-FAQ. He instructed the Assistant Supply Controller to ensure only FAQ-compliant paddy is purchased, urging strict attention to quality standards. He also directed the monitoring team to conduct regular inspections of procurement centers.
In Patan tehsil, he visited Seth Govind Warehouse under the Sakra Service Cooperative Society located in Banwar.
He ordered verification of each farmer’s procurement details, formation of an inquiry team, and a comprehensive investigation.
In Shahpura tehsil, during his visit to the Balraj Warehouse under the Pipariya Kala Service Cooperative Society, it was noted that the warehouse contained paddy belonging to millers. The Collector instructed the concerned officials to ensure the immediate lifting of paddy by millers as well as the transportation of procured paddy. He stressed that acceptance letters should be issued promptly to prevent delays in payments to farmers. He also emphasized the importance of proper storage, ensuring no procured paddy is left in the open. Finally, at the Belkheda Sahajpur procurement center under the Brihat Service Cooperative Society in Shahpura tehsil, Collector Saxena reviewed operations and issued necessary directives to ensure the procurement process remains transparent, systematic, and aligned with procurement policies.
