Tehsil Police arrest five gang members, seize 40 stolen two-wheelers
Tehsil Police have busted an inter-state gang responsible for stealing two-wheelers from various hospitals in the city. The police have arrested five bike-lifters in connection with the thefts and seized 40 stolen motorcycles. The accused have been identified as Rohit Gunaram Chandrapuri (34) from Amarwada, Chhindwara district, MP; Neeraj Shivkumar Nagvanshi (21) from Amla, MP; Rohit Bansilal Nagle (25) from Amla, MP; Amit Kailas Aheke (19) from Monegao, Dindwara, MP; and Dinesh Deepakkumar Tittu Kumre (19) from Desawadi, Junnardev, MP.
The gang's activities came to light after a motorcycle belonging to Deepak Borkar (29) was stolen from the premises of Mayo Hospital.
Acting on a complaint, the Tehsil Police registered a case of theft and began their investigation. Under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sandeep Bua, and Sub-Inspector Rasool Sheikh, along with other officers, a detailed search was launched.
The investigation led to the arrest of Chandrapuri and Nagvanshi first, followed by the capture of three more accused persons. The police recovered
40 stolen motorcycles, which were mostly taken from hospital premises. After stealing the vehicles, the gang would change the number plates and transport the stolen motorcycles to Madhya Pradesh, where they would sell them. The police have continued investigation to trace any other members of the gang.
