Vardhaan Lithium to invest Rs 42,535 cr 
 
The ongoing World Economic Forum (WEF) summit at Davos saw inking of investment proposals worth Rs 69,000 crore for establishment of industries in Vidarbha, particularly in Nagpur, that is now getting the attention of top players in Indian economy. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is leading the delegation of Maharashtra at the WEF, inked the proposals that would facilitate creation of over 5,000 jobs across various sectors. Most of the new industries have pegged their location in Butibori region wherein the Government has already acquired over 2,000 Ha of land long back. The biggest among the investments is that of Vardhaan Lithium which has committed investment of Rs 42,535 crore. The unit is meant for establishment of lithium refinery and also manufacturing of lithium battery. Another major group that has committed itself to investment is Ceat Group, that is eyeing to set-up EV automobile manufacturing industry. The proposal is worth Rs 5,000 crore.
 
Ceat Group has a projection of creating 500 new jobs while the Lithium project aims for 5,000 jobs. Similarly, Greta Energy in Steel and Metals sector has promised investment of Rs 19,139 crore and they are going to set-up their unit in Chandrapur district. They are aiming for creation of 3,200 jobs. Hyzero Inc is going to invest Rs 16,000 crore in establishment of two units for tapping green energy and one of the units will come up in Butibori and combined jobs creation would be 10,000. A salient point of the investment proposals is that all the industry giants are in from the country but their talks about establishment of new units have come up at Davos summit.
