Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav expressed confidence that
the relations between India
and Japan would grow stronger, opening new avenues for
partnership between the two nations.
Dr Yadav met with India’s Ambassador to Japan Sibi George in Tokyo on Tuesday.
Both leaders discussed the strong and historic relationship between India and Japan, focusing on further strengthening ties to enhance trade and economic collaboration between Madhya Pradesh and Japan.
CM Dr Yadav is currently on a four-day visit to Japan, which will continue until January 31. During the visit, he is inviting Japanese business leaders and investors to attend the Global Investors Summit (GIS) scheduled to be held in Bhopal on February 24-25. The summit aims to provide a platform for discussions on investment opportunities and foster closer economic ties.
On his visit, CM Dr Yadav also explored the Tribal Co-operative Marketing Development Federation of India’s tribal products market in Tokyo, interacting with artisans and learning about Indian crafts’ marketability in Japan. He expressed interest in promoting Indian handicrafts in Japan and wished the artisans success in their international endeavours.
CM Dr Yadav met Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike and discussed potential future co-operation in various development areas, including industries, technology, investments, employment, and education. Governor Koike also invited Dr Yadav to a conference of start-up companies to be held in Tokyo in May. Dr Yadav reciprocated by inviting Koike to the upcoming Global Investors Summit in Bhopal.
On the first day of his visit, CM Dr Yadav held discussions with senior officials of Toyota Motor Corporation regarding investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh. He highlighted the State’s ideal location, vast industrial land bank, skilled workforce, and emerging auto clusters like Pithampur as key factors that make Madhya Pradesh a promising destination for investment. During his talks with Toyota, Dr Yadav also emphasised the State’s peaceful and disaster-free environment, which he compared to Japan’s stability, making it an even more attractive investment hub. He invited Toyota to set up facilities in Madhya Pradesh, particularly in sectors related to technology and youth skill development.
The visit is a significant part of the ‘Invest in Madhya Pradesh’ campaign, paving the way for the Global Investors Summit in February 2025. This event is expected to strengthen economic ties between India and Japan and position Madhya Pradesh as a global investment destination.
CM Dr Yadav also discussed various industrial opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, emphasising the state’s growth and its potential in diverse sectors such as food parks, IT parks, solar energy, and medical devices.
He invited Japanese companies to participate in these sectors and contribute to the state’s development. Highlighting the State’s favourable policies, Dr Yadav assured Japanese investors that Madhya Pradesh offers a transparent and conducive environment for business, with policies such as single-window clearance and infrastructure support. He expressed confidence that Japanese investors would seize the numerous opportunities available in the State and contribute to its growth.
Dr Yadav shared important information about the upcoming Global Investors Summit-2025 He highlighted that Japan is a leader in technology today, and this presents new investment and trade opportunities for India and Madhya Pradesh.

While discussing Mahatma Gandhi’s principle of non-violence, Chief Minister Dr Yadav stated that Bapu’s ideals continue to inspire people across the world today. He co-related Mahatma Gandhi’s thoughts with India-Japan relations, stating that Bapu’s non-violence principle aligns with the teachings of Gautam Buddha in Japan. This reflects the deep-rooted bond between the two countries.
Chief Minister Dr Yadav also paid tributes to the heroes of Indian freedom struggle, mentioning leaders like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Ras Bihari Bose, Swami Vivekananda, and Rabindranath Tagore, who symbolise our historic friendship with Japan.
