In a crackdown against drinking in public, the Ayodhya Nagar Police Station, under the leadership of Station Head Inspector Mahesh Lilhare, has registered cases against 36 individuals under the Excise Act. The action was carried out as part of a week-long campaign aimed at curbing public intoxication.
This initiative, directed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-2, Dr Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (IPS), followed a detailed meeting where all police station in-charges were instructed to take strict action against individuals drinking in open and public spaces. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional DCP Zone-2 Mahaveer Singh Mujaldé and Assistant Police Commissioner of MP Nagar, Akshay Chaudhary.
Over the course of the week, police personnel conducted multiple raids in areas around liquor shops, roadside locations, and other public spaces.
A total of 36 individuals were caught consuming alcohol in public and were booked under Section 36B of the Excise Act.
Notable arrests include individuals from various localities in the Ayodhya Nagar area, as well as other areas like Piplani, Nishatpura, and Shivshakti Nagar. The names of those arrested include Sanjay Badoade (32), Mayank Joshi (34), Rahul Kushwaha (35), and several others, whose detailed information is outlined in the official police records.
The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to maintain public order and ensure safety in the community. The police also acknowledged the commendable efforts of personnel involved in this operation, including Station Head Inspector Mahesh Lilhare and other officers and constables, who played a crucial role in executing the crackdown.
