DR HEMANT Sharad Pande has assumed charge as Director (Personnel) of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), a PSU under Ministry of Coal, on January 27, 2025. On assumption of the charge, Dr Pande met CMD WCL J P Dwivedi, who congratulated him and wished him the best for his future endeavours. WCL Directors and CVO also wished him on the occasion.
Prior to assuming charge as Director (Personnel), Dr Hemant Sharad Pande was serving as Area General Manager of Raigarh Area of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary company of Coal India Limited. Dr Pande was recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of WCL by the PESB selection panel from the pool of 10 candidates.
Dr Hemant Sharad Pande holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur. He holds a post graduate degree of Master of Business Administration and Master of Technology in mining.
He is Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Management. He has further honed his managerial and leadership skills through Advanced Global Techno Management training in ESCP, a top business school in Europe, and visited countries like France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Netherlands. He has participated as a member of Indian delegation in various business meeting in the Prospectors and Developers Association (PDAC) in Toronto, Canada.
He began his career in the August 1989 as Junior Executive Trainee with Western Coalfields Limited (WCL). During his 19 years tenure at WCL, Dr Pande served in various prestigious projects in different capacities.
