Disposal attempt, massive protest and swiftly shifting of Union Carbide waste from Bhopal to Pithampur has took a political turn from State capital to streets of Indore and Dhar. Forty years after one of world’s deadliest industrial disasters struck Bhopal, a clean-up operation has finally begun to dispose hundreds of tonnes of toxic waste from the site. However, public representatives, opposition and local campaigners have accused the government of taking a very mild step, arguing that the 337 tonnes of waste removed this week represents less than 1% of the more than 1m tonnes of hazardous materials left after the disaster and that the cleanup has done nothing to tackle chemical contamination of the area. there is need to take genuine effort. State Congress President Jeetu Patwari said that the cases of corruption has been surfaced and prevailing for the last one month in the state have tarnished the image of state in the country. State has become hub of corruption.

Congress party demands that the Government should give land only to the gas affected people, there is a conspiracy of the Government behind getting the land vacated.
