The Vande Bharat Express sleeper rack trial, which began on December 31, 2024, in Kota, is of great significance for Bhopal residents as well. This trial aims to test various technical standards of the Vande Bharat sleeper rack, including coupler force, air suspension, braking systems, and speed on curved tracks. On December 31, the trial was conducted at speeds of 130, 140, and 150 km/h on the Kota-Nagda section. The following day, January 1, the trial was conducted at speeds of 160 km/h, 170 km/h, and 180 km/h over various sections.
On January 2, a stretch of 30 km from Kota to Laban was tested at 180 km/h. This trial is particularly important for Bhopal residents as the Vande Bharat Express is expected to be launched on the Bhopal- Patliputra Patna (Patna) and Bhopal-Lucknow routes in February 2025, once the trial is completed. Additionally, Bhopal is set to benefit from the introduction of the Vande Bharat Express on the Bhopal-Mumbai route in the near future. This development will provide Bhopal travelers with faster and more comfortable travel options. The ongoing trials are being conducted under the supervision of the RDSO team and will continue throughout January.
For Bhopal passengers, this means quicker, more efficient travel, enhancing connectivity with major cities like Patna, Lucknow, and Mumbai. The upcoming launch of the Vande Bharat Express will significantly reduce travel times and offer a modern, high-speed train experience.
