Young Muslim Football Club thrashed Nagpur Blues to clinch the Dr Nitin Raut Football Trophy on Friday. In the final, which was delayed by more than a couple of months, YMFC rallied brilliantly to defeat Nagpur Blues 3-1 to claim the trophy and a cash purse of Rs one lakh. Aditya Chandane gave Nagpur Blues the lead in the 7th minute but they could enjoy only for the next 10 minutes as Fuzail Pasha levelled the scores in the 17th. Fahad Junaid then put YMFC ahead for the first time in the match scoring the goal in the 25th minute.

 

Yash Shukla made it 2-1 in the 78th minute to seal the deal. Dr Nitin Raut, Tarun Bhatia, NDFA President Haresh Vora, Secretary Iqbal Kashmiri, SECR’s Dilip Singh, Radhye Shukla, Bishwajit Dey, Abid Khan, Suresh Patil, Sunil Samudre, Stanley Gregory and others were present during the prize distribution function.
