Notorious gangster Sheikhu, alias Gulnawaz Khan, and his two accomplices, who killed gangster Pawan Hiranwar of Kachipura by firing from a Desi Katta, are still at large. The Rural police are conducting a search for them across the district.

On Thursday, Sheikhu and his accomplices opened fire on a car near the Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple in the Babhulkheda area, under the Khaparkheda police station limits, during a gang war. Pawan Hiranwar was killed, while Himanshu Gajbhiye, Bunty Hiranwar, Siddharth Kowe, and Sonu Shendre were injured. In connection with the case, the police arrested four persons: Siddharth Dinesh Kove, Pratham Manoj Shakya, Abhiraj Kailash Kanojia, and Lalit Arun Bhusari. All four have been taken into police custody. Meanwhile, on Saturday, Khaparkheda police conducted a reenactment of the incident. During the investigation, the police discovered a Desi Katta, live cartridges, and a knife near a drain in the area. It is likely that the killers discarded the weapons there after firing at the car and fleeing. The exact motive behind this gang war is expected to become clearer once Sheikhu is arrested.
