In a major breakthrough against illegal firearms, Jabalpur police nabbed 16 criminals and seized 15 firearms and19 live cartridges from them in different areas of the district. Belkheda Police arrested Ajay alias Ajju Lodhi, resident of Sundradehi with 1 country-made guns, 2 cartridges, Rajendra alias Raju Lodhi, resident of Sundradehi with 1 country-made pistol, 1 gun, 3 cartridges. Panagar Police arrested Nitesh alias Nitu, resident of Visendhi with 1 country-made gun, 1 cartridge, Anil Burman, resident near Bade Jain Temple, Panagar with 1 country-made gun, 1 cartridge, Jitendra alias Jittu Yadav, resident of Vyas Mohalla, Panagar (supplier), Jani Sen, resident near Badi Khermai Temple, Panagar (supplier). Barela Police arrested Nitesh Tekam, a resident of Barha village with 1 country-made revolver, 2 cartridges. Kundam Police nabbed Sahil Sahu, a resident of Sadafal village with 1 country-made pistol, 1 cartridge. Shahpura Police arrested Durgesh Patel, a resident of Ghunsaur village with 1 country-made gun, 1 cartridge. Hanumantal Police arrested Saifu Khan, a resident of Raja Chowk, Adhartal with 1 pistol, 1 cartridge, Chirag Sonkar, a resident of Bhantlaiya, Hanumantal with 1 pistol, 1 cartridge, Vishal Sonkar, a resident of Khatik Mohalla, Belbagh with 1 pistol, 1 cartridge.
 
Ranjhi Police arrested Anuj Thakur, a resident of Bara Patthar, Ranjhi with 1 country-made gun, Praveen Rajak, resident of Shobhapur with 1 pistol, 3 cartridges. Madhotal Police arrested Shobhit Suryavanshi alias Raja, a resident of Maneri village, Bijadandi with 1 pistol, 1 cartridge, Laxman Choudhary, resident of Hinota village, Panagar with 1 revolver, 1 cartridge. It may be noted that Jabalpur Police, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police, Sampat Upadhyay (IPS), has launched a series of operations targeting miscreants involved in the illegal trade of firearms and narcotics under the supervision of Additional SPs Anand Kaladgi (IPS), Samar Verma, Pradeep Kumar Sende, Suryakant Sharma and Sonali Dubey. Accused were apprehended with coordinated efforts of police teams led by Crime Branch officers and station in-charges with special contribution from SI, Ashok Mishra, Dhananjay Singh, Prashant Solanki and Kailash Mishra, Head Constables Rakesh Bahadur Singh, Vinay Singh and others. 
 
3 miscreants arrested in 2 traps; three firearms, 4 live cartidges seized

The combine team of Crime Branch, Belkheda and Madhotal police nabbed three miscreants and seized three firearms, four live cartridges and a car from them in two separate traps. The arrested have been identified as Ajay alias Ajju Lodhi (26), resident of Sundaradehi village, Shobhit Suryavanshi alias Raja (22), resident of Maneri, Bijadandi in Mandla district and Lakhan Choudhary (19), resident of Hinauta village in Panagar and currently lived in Shankar Nagar, Madhotal. SHO of Belkheda police station, Sarojini Chouksey informed that the Crime Branch received information about a suspect carrying an illegal firearm near a puncture repair shop at the Sundradehi bus stand. Acting on the information, a team raided the location, and upon noticing the police, the suspect attempted to flee in a white car. However, the team intercepted him.
 
The accused, identified as Ajay alias Ajju Lodhi (26), a resident of Sundradehi, was found with a 315-bore country-made pistol in his left pant pocket and two live cartridges in the right pocket of his jacket. The team seized the pistol, the cartridges, and the vehicle bearing registration number MP-18CA-1610. Similarly, SHO of Madhotal police station, Vipin Tamrakar informed that the Crime Branch received a tip-off about two suspects near Hanuman Temple at Patan Bypass, suspected of planning a criminal activity. Upon raiding the area, police apprehended two suspects identified as Shobhit Suryavanshi alias Raja carrying a country-made pistol and a live cartridge in his left jeans pocket. The other accused, Laxman Choudhary was found with a country-made revolver loaded with one live cartridge. Both weapons and ammunition were seized and separate cases under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act have been filed.
