The Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) is prioritising cleanliness and sanitation across the city, focusing on main roads, markets, and commercial areas. Under the guidance of Collector Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh and Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra, the Swachh Bharat Mission and Health Department teams are conducting daily cleaning operations based on a pre-determined route chart. Commissioner Mishra is personally overseeing these efforts, conducting daily monitoring of the cleaning work. On Sunday, he inspected the Raman Mandir ward area’s cleanliness in the presence of Health Officer Dr Tripti Panigrahi, Executive Engineer Raghumani Pradhan, and Assistant Engineer Yogesh Kadu.

He instructed officials to ensure that Raipur’s cleanliness standards align with its status as a Smart City and to prioritise high-quality cleaning through continuous monitoring. A key focus of the RMC’s efforts is the Swachh Survekshan (Cleanliness Survey) under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Commissioner Mishra has directed daily inspection and monitoring of Sulabh toilets to maintain cleanliness. He personally inspected Sulabh toilet facilities near the Corporation Zone 2 office and Narayana Hospital, accompanied by the same officials. The inspection included checking the functionality of QR codes and payment machines. To address waterlogging issues during the rainy season, the RMC is also constructing new drains and repairing existing ones. Commissioner Mishra visited the Devendra Nagar area today to observe the progress of wall construction work on an old drain. He directed officials to expedite the work to resolve waterlogging problems in the area and emphasised the importance of quality construction and timely completion through continuous monitoring. In summary, the RMC is implementing a comprehensive approach to improve sanitation and infrastructure, encompassing daily cleaning operations, enhanced monitoring of public toilets, and infrastructure upgrades to mitigate waterlogging.
