TANMAY Siriah got the better of Soham Jane to win the men’s singles title of the MSLTA State Championship for Men and Women that concluded at the Nagpur District Hardcourt Tennis Association’s courts on Sunday.
In the one-set final, Siriah defeated Soham Jane 6-4. Earlier in the semis, Siriah was stretched to the limit by Tejal Pal but prevailed 6-5(2).
Jane beat Alok Mishra 6-4.
In the men’s doubles final, Jane and Kashit Nagrale defeated the pair of Ishdev Dheer and Mohanish Buty 6-4 to take the crown.
Rest of Maharashtra Zones will be visiting Nagpur in March for the State Championship to be hosted by NDHTA at Ramnagar courts.
In the prize distribution ceremony, Dr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar and Vijay Naidu from NDHTA invited parents and partners of players to hand over the trophies and certificates.
