United States Ambassador in India Eric Garcetti called on Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at Chief Minister’s House Raipur on Sunday. Ambassador Eric Garcetti said, “It was mydream to come to Chhattisgarh and I had read and heard a lot about the nature of Chhattisgarh, its tourist places and culture. It feels great to be here today.” He said that Chhattisgarh is a peaceful and beautiful state. Now America will also become a partner in the development journey of this beautiful state. Ambassador Garcetti had in-depth discussions on promoting investment, cultural aspects and economic prospects in the state.

 

Chief Minister Sai discussed with the United States Ambassador in detail about the development works taking place in Chhattisgarh and the favourable environment created for investors by the new industrial policy. Sai said that Chhattisgarh is open to global investors and development is taking place on a large scale in every sector. The cooperation of friendly countries like America is a matter of pride for the state, he added. Ambassador Garcetti said that Chhattisgarh is a surplus state in the field of electricity production. There is immense investment potential in sectors like energy, defence, logistics, IT and semiconductors in Chhattisgarh.

 

The Ambassador said, “We will work together towards promoting investment of various American companies in Chhattisgarh.” Chhattisgarh can become an important destination for global investors, he added. The Chief Minister told Garcetti that all investors are welcome in Chhattisgarh and the State government will work to provide all necessary facilities to them. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Sai invited the United States Ambassador to visit Bastar. Garcetti assured the Chief Minister that he along with his family members would visit Bastar. Chief Minister Sai presented shawl and bell metal Nandi to the US Ambassador. Ambassador Garcetti enjoyed tea with the Chief Minister. Secretaries to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, P Dayanand, Dr Basavraju S, Commissioner of Department of Public Relations Dr Ravi Mittal, Director of Industries Department Prabhat Malik and other officials were present on the occasion.
