Strengthening the health infrastructure in city, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has unveiled a telemedicine facility at Gorewada Primary Health Centre. The facility is going to be managed by Digi Swasthya Foundation and was introduced by the civic body through funding provided by Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) under the latter's CSR policy. Now patients can get consultation from any experts in the country using the telemedicine facility.
Municipal Commissioner Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari inaugurated the facility on Friday. The patients can get free consultation from experts in respective medicine fields. In case surgery is required, then the patient will hold further consultation with the expert medico, and NMC would then proceed with the formalities, as the same would be carried out free of cost under Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana or Ayushman Bharat Yojana.
Central and State Government have already empaneled experts in various medicine streams for the telemedicine policy. The same facility will be available between 9 am to 2 pm.
Speaking on the occasion, Municipal Commissioner said besides Gorewada, the telemedicine facility will also be available at Jagnath Budhwari PHC in the first phase. The Digi Swasthay Foundation will also keep follow-up of the patients who have availed themselves of the telemedicine facility.
