INVESTMENT decisions should be made with safety, thorough verification, and careful consideration. A well-planned approach can yield good returns. It is also crucial to consider the liquidity of our funds. By diversifying investments across different sectors such as debentures, bonds, and mutual funds, people can become smart investors, said Rahul Kelapure, Assistant Managing Director of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). On the concluding day of the Advantage Vidarbha-2025 Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav, organised by the Association for Industrial Development (AID), SEBI conducted a session on ‘How to Become a Smart Investor.’

SEBI Deputy General Manager Balakumari, M K Wealth Partner Ashish Sharma, AID Chairman Ashish Kale, CA Girish Deodhar, CMA Milind Alshi, and CA Varun Vijayvargiya were present on the dias. Balakumari emphasised that individuals striving for financial self-reliance should invest with awareness and a clear understanding of their options. Ashish Sharma advised investors to consider equities and securities, stating that long-term investments of at least three years significantly reduce the risk of loss. The event began with an introductory speech by Varun Vijayvargiya, and the programme was skillfully moderated by Niketa Khangar.
