Highlighting their various demands, a delegation of office-bearers of Butibori Manufacturers Association (BMA) and MIDC Industries Association (MIA) on Sunday gave a charter of demand to Principal Secretary, Dr P Anbalagan here in the city. The delegation also gave some suggestions to the Principal Secretary who was here to take part in the concluding ceremony of the three-day Vidarbha Advantage 2025. “The MIDC land rates in Butibori MIDC are exorbitantly higher as compared to MIDC land rates in western Maharashtra. The land rates need to reconsider and make more investors attractive,” said MIA President P Mohan. Currently there is no big electronic or hardware manufacturing company in Vidarbha.

“Considering the future potential scope for electronics, a special cluster/special park is necessary to attract the new industry by offering special incentives to new companies in electronics / EV / mobile / batteries segments components for making renewable energy,” he said. Jeevan Ghime, Office-bearer of BMA, suggested value addition for development of mining and mineral processing clusters. “Special mining and process clusters should be developed in the region by way of offering incentives for value addition,” Ghime said. Punit Mahajan, another office-bearer of BMA, said, “Units in Vidarbha are incurring extra cost on logistics as compared to units in other areas. We want incentives in PSI to make the units' logistic cost at par with others.” On power tariff and electricity duty exemption, Mahajan urged the Government to make a special power tariff for units based in Vidarbha . The delegation also raised many other issues related to the industry and entrepreneurs of the region.
