Film City to come up near Khindsi lake in Ramtek

Ashish Shelar, Minister of Cultural Affairs, asked the Revenue Department to hand over the land parcel of 128 acres near Khindsi Lake in Ramtek for the Film City to Cultural Affairs Department, during a meeting to review status of the proposed Film City.
 
The meeting was held at Chhatrapati Hall in District Collectorate on Saturday.
Adv Ashish Jaiswal, Minister of State; and Dr Vipin Itankar, District Collector, also were present at the meeting, while Rajiv Jalnapurkar, Director, Ramoji Film City, participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Film City is planned near Khindsi Lake in Ramtek. The location is deemed suitable for film production and is well-connected to forest areas, offering significant tourism potential.
 
The project is expected to generate employment.
Shelar said, a training centre will be established to develop skilled manpower required for the industry. Facilities for film production be made available, he added urging stakeholders to hold workshops to promote the project.Adv Jaiswal emphasised that the Film City will provide a significant boost to filmmakers from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, offering them an ideal location for shooting documentaries and short films. “The Film City will be situated just 40 kilometers from Nagpur Airport, with numerous resorts in the surrounding area. These factors will greatly benefit film producers,” he added.
