In a tragic accident, a woman pilgrim died and over a dozen were injured when mini bus in which they were travelling to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh was hit by a pick-up vehicle, near Piprondh, under jurisdiction of Madhavnagar police station. The bus carrying pilgrims from Bengaluru ,Karnataka was on its way to Prayagraj. On Monday afternoon, this bus was hit by a pick-up vehicle moving in the wrong side. One woman died and more than one dozen sitting in the bus were seriously injured. Madhav Nagar police station and traffic police station staff reached the spot on receiving the information.

 

The injured were sent to district hospital. All the pilgrims were member of same family day and were heading to Prayagraj to attend the Maha Kumbh. The pick up vehicle was loaded with fodder and was moving on wrong side of road. The lady pilgrim name Vani died in this accident and injured includes Shri Krishna, Satish Kumar, Bharati, Jyoti, Venugopal Vani, Satish, Lakshmi Narayan, Swarna, Prashant, Keshav Sharma, Geeta Arya, driver of the bus. The injured were taken to district hospital by Highway ambulance and their treatment has been started till this report being filed.

 

 

Four persons were killed, and as many others sustained injuries after an SUV heading for the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj overturned in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district in the wee hours of Monday, police said. The accident occurred under the Amahia police station limits around 2 am when the SUV was going towards Prayagraj from Waidhan in Singrauli district, Superintendent of Police (SP) Ravindra Verma told PTI. He said the vehicle carrying pilgrims was crossing Mudha Pahad when it overturned, killing four persons. Four other passengers were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment at a hospital, the official said. Prima facie, it appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn, he said.
