Indore wins 46th Inter-Regional Women’s Power Sports Tournament

Indore team bagged overall championship of 46th Inter-Regional Women’s Power Sports Tournament. The sports competitions were organised under the auspices of Central Sports and Arts Council of MP Power Management Company. The second place was claimed by Singhaji Thermal Power Plant, Khandwa with 12 points while Central Office, Jabalpur finished third with 11 points. Rajeev Gupta, General Secretary of Central Sports and Arts Council, awarded the rolling shield to the winning and runner-up teams and distributed prizes to the individual winners. The badminton team championship was won by Shri Singhaji Thermal Power Plant, Khandwa, after defeating Central Office, Jabalpur.
 
In the singles event, Rajni Dharne (Central Office, Jabalpur) claimed victory after a tough battle against Anjali Singh (Shri Singhaji Thermal Power Plant) with scores of 21-16, 12-21, 21-15. In the doubles match, Anjali Singh and Nikita Patta defeated Rajni Dharne and Diksha Singh with a score of 21-7, 21-12. The table tennis team championship was won by Shri Singhaji Thermal Power Plant, followed by Bhopal in second place and Indore in third. In the individual singles category, Shweta Mandloi (Indore) emerged victorious. Shilu Kulkarni and Akanksha Srivastava (Shri Singhaji Thermal Power Plant) secured second and third places, respectively.
 
In the doubles event, Jyoti Verma and Sangeeta Rajak (Bhopal) defeated Shweta Mandloi and Anuradha (Indore) to claim the title. MP Power team, which will participate in the All India Power Sports Control Competition, includes Shweta Mandloi (Indore), Shilu Kulkarni & Akanksha Srivastava (Shri Singhaji Thermal Power Plant), and Snehlata Pawar (Ujjain). The Tennikoit team championship was won by Central Office, Jabalpur, after defeating Indore. Bhopal secured third place. In the individual category, Rinku Sharma won the title, followed by Manisha Jharia (Central Office, Jabalpur) in second place, and Preeti Shukla (Indore) in third place.
