Railway Protection Force (RPF) runs an Operation ‘Meri Saheli’ awareness campaign to ensure the safety of women passengers. Under this awareness campaign, the women passengers are informed about necessary steps which are to be taken for safe travel experience to women passengers and to keep them safe during crisis.
Under ‘Operation Meri Saheli’, RPF, WCR has provided assistance to 15,599 women passengers for safe travel so far in the year 2025 and helped them reach their destination safely.
Main objective of Operation Meri Saheliis to give priority to the safety of women passengers. Under this campaign, Railway Protection Force has made special security arrangements so that women passengers feel confident and safe during their journey.
Apart from this, RPF has also given information about security measures and awareness to women passengers so that they can get immediate help in case of any crisis.
Railway Administration appealed the women passengers to always be alert for their safety and immediately contact RPF in case of any problem or crisis. By making proper use of RPF's special helpline and security measures, women passengers can make their journey safe and confident.
The women passengers have been appealed to be cautious of any suspicious person on the train or station and in case of any problem, immediately contact RPF helpline 139 or nearest police station.
RPF has focused on various aspects to ensure the safety of women passengers including deployment of Women RPF personnel at railway stations and trains.
RPF gives information to women passengers on security measures, such as theft, molestation and how to get help in emergency situation.
Immediate solution of complaints or problems of women passengers has been ensured. RPF has also issued a special helpline number 139 available 24 hours to resolve the complaints of passengers quickly.
