As auspicious Chaitra Navaratri approaches, preparations are in full swing at Goddess temples across the district. The nine-day festival, set to begin on March 30, will see temples freshly painted and cleaned, while Jyoti Kalash buildings are being tidied up and organised to welcome worshippers. Along with Chaitra Navaratri, there is significant enthusiasm for Chaitra Chhath, the festival dedicated to Lord Surya. The people from Purvanchal residing in the region are making special arrangements for the celebrations.
Temples including those of Maa Sarwamangala, Maa Bhawani, Maa Madwarani, Maa Matin Dai, Maa Kosgai Devi,
Maa Mahishasur Mardini Chaiturgarh, Mata Chodharani, and Cheparani are actively preparing for the festival.
With the rising temperatures, temple managements are also arranging facilities for devotees to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience. Astrologer Pt Nanhe Maharaj highlighted that this year’s Chaitra Navratri carries special significance.
Pratipada Tithi will commence on March 29 at 4:33 pm and conclude on March 30 at 2:14 pm. As per Udayatithi, Kalash Sthapana will take place on March 30, marking the start of the festival. Adding to the auspiciousness, Navaratri begins on a Sunday, symbolising the Goddess’s ride on an elephant, a sign of prosperity and peace. The festival will culminate on April 6, with Maha Ashtami fast on April 5 and Mahanavami on April 6. Kanya Pujan, Havan, and Aarti will be performed as part of the concluding rituals.
The anticipation and spiritual fervour surrounding Chaitra Navaratri and Chaitra Chhath reflect the devotion and cultural richness of the region.
