Work at Bombay High Court’s Nagpur bench got stalled for a while after police were informed about presence of a bomb in the premises. A person from Jaripatka informed Sadar Police that a bomb had been planted at the High Court. Taking immediate cognisance, the cops got in touch with Registrar, Nagpur Bench, Bombay High Court, who then assisted the cops in the search operation.
The message was received around 5 pm when the main proceedings in the Court room were wrapped up and only the administrative staff were at their work stations.
Police said a team Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) reached High Court building in Civil Lines and thoroughly checked all the rooms. The sniffer pressed into service also went around the campus but nothing suspicious was found.
According to police, Omprakash Sadhwani, an auditor and a resident of Jaripatka, had came to the Sadar Police Station, and told the police about a bomb planted at the High Court.
Prior to that, Sadhwani had also called on 112 and relayed information about a bomb in HC.
After getting the clear signal from BDDS team, the Sadar Police said the bomb call was a hoax. The police thereafter carried out background check about Sadhwani in Jaripatka area and learnt that he was mentally unstable. The same was confirmed by the doctor who is treating Sadhwani. A case has been registered by Sadar Police and they have detained Sadhwani.
