Gopal Prasad Agarwal, a resident of Jai Bhavani Society, Shahpura, Bhopal, reported a burglary at his house. He explained that on March 18, he and his family left for a trip outside Bhopal. Upon returning on March 19, around 10 pm, they found the main gate of their house broken and the interiors ransacked. The thieves had stolen approximately Rs 30 lakh worth of cash and jewellery, including gold and silver items. Shahpura Police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
With the guidance of Police Commissioner Harinarayanachari Mishra (IPS) and Additional Police Commissioner Awadhesh Goswami (IPS), the police worked tirelessly to trace the culprits. The investigation, which involved the use of CCTV footage and technical assistance, led to the identification and arrest of two primary suspects, Ashutosh Srivastava and Jitendra alias Jeetu Meena.
During questioning, they confessed to the crime, admitting to breaking the locks and stealing the items.
They also revealed they had sold the stolen goods to Dharmendra alias Manish Prajapati, a resident of Indore. The police arrested Prajapati in Indore, where they recovered the stolen gold and silver bars. The police seized a scooter (MP04 YG-7841) used in the crime and recovered cash and jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh. The suspects have been arrested and further investigations are ongoing.
The success of this operation was a result of the combined efforts of Shahpura Police Station Incharge Inspector Lokendra Singh Thakur, Habibganj Police Station Incharge Inspector Sanjeev Choukse, Ratibad Police Station Incharge Sub-Inspector Rass Bihari Sharma, and their dedicated teams. Their quick action and teamwork have led to the recovery of stolen goods and the arrest of the culprits.
