“Deekshabhoomi provides energy to move forward with a system of equal rights, justice for the poor, deprived, and the needy,” wrote Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the country in the visitor’s book after his visit to Deekshabhoomi on Sunday. He paid respects to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Tathagat Gautam Buddha, and also offered prayers. Bhante Surai Sasai, President, Deekshabhoomi Smarak Samiti, welcomed the Prime Minister on his arrival. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Highways and Road Transport; Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of the State; and Rajendra Gawai, Secretary, Deekshabhoomi Smarak Samiti, were present prominently during the visit.
 
Narendra Modi, in his message in the visitor’s book, stated, “I am overwhelmed to have the privilege of visiting Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur, one of the ‘Panchteerthas’ of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. In the atmosphere of this sacred place, one experiences Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s principles of social harmony, equality, and justice. Deekshabhoomi provide us with energy to move forward with a system of equal rights and justice for poor, deprived, and the needy. I have full faith that in this ‘Amrit Kaal’, we will take the country to new height of progress by following the teachings and values of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Building a developed and inclusive India will be a true tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.”
