Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, on Monday, applauded the efforts of Bhonsala Military School for nurturing brave officers who are now serving the nation on different borders and places.
Fadnavis inaugurated the state-of-the-art auditorium constructed in memory of the founder of the school, Dr Balkrishna Shivram Munje, and General Bipin Rawat at Bhonsala Military School premises on Monday.
“It is the school that produced many soldiers of the nation who are also the perfect epitome of discipline,” said Fadnavis.
“The objective behind starting the school was to instil military values in the society and to spread patriotism among youth,” he added.
While talking about General Bipin Rawat, Fadnavis said, “The auditorium in the name of General Rawat will help to inspire students to be like him, who sacrificed his life for the country.”
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving towards ‘Atmanirbharta’, and as a result we are manufacturing most modern weapons for us and also exporting it to other countries,” he added.
Air Marshal Shirish Dev, retired Vice Chief of the Air Staff, said, “Bhonsala Military School is progressing on the lines of the National Defence Academy (NDA), which instils military ethos from a very young age.”
He said that the administration is paying special attention to the quality of education for their students, which is equivalent to the Sainik schools of the country.
Former Army Chief General Manoj Pande talked about General Bipin Rawat during the programme.
“General Rawat has done extraordinary work for the country and armed forces. His visionary leadership led the armed forces towards a modern military which gained the respect worldwide.”
Shailesh Joglekar, President, Bhonsala Military School, welcomed the guests. The guests also inaugurated the statue of founder Dr Balakrishna Munje. Renowned sculptor artist Pradeep Shinde was also felicitated at the hands of Chief Minister during the event.
Suryaratan Daga, President, Central Hindu Military Education Society; Kumar Kale; Dilip Chavan; Rahul Dixit; Hemant Deshpande; Vivek Ranade; Sanjay Joshi; Amarendra Hardas and others were present during the event. The programme was conducted by Harshala Rajgire and Rahul Dixit proposed a vote of thanks.
