Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that empowering co-operative banks is highly beneficial for farmers and thus banks in the sector should prosper. Gadkari was speaking at the function organised here on the first day of Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank’s (MSCB) appointment as Institutional Administrator of the Nagpur District Cooperative Bank (NDCCB). Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis; Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule; Maharashtra Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal; Administrator of MSCB Vidyadhar Anaskar and others were present. In his address, Fadnavis said that the district and state co-operative banks pave the way for prosperity of farmers.
