Durg/Raipur,
It was an event layered in meaning—part reunion, part recognition, and wholly historic. For the first time in Chhattisgarh’s medical fraternity, over 100 women physiotherapists gathered under one roof for a celebration of community, contribution, and identity. Hosted by Physio Harmonia, the vibrant event took place at a private restaurant in Durg, and is being hailed as a landmark moment in the state’s professional wellness circles.
From batchmates of 1993 to those from 2020, the gathering brought together multiple generations of women healers. At the heart of this effort were the tireless organisers—Dr Shipra Patankar, Dr Kumkum Dey, Dr Shweta Deshlahara, Dr Neha Batra, Dr Deepika Patel, and Dr Roma Makhija—whose seamless teamwork made the day both joyful and purposeful.
The programme began with a heartfelt welcome speech by Dr Shipra Patankar.
What followed was an engaging journey through cultural performances, introductions, and humour, keeping the audience enthralled from start to finish. Stand-up comedy, singing, and dance added rhythm to the professional pride that quietly united every guest in the hall.
What elevated the gathering further was the collective reflection on the role of women in physiotherapy. As part of this segment, Indian Association of Physiotherapists Women Cell (IAPWC) State Coordinator Dr Garima Tiwari, along with her team, addressed the gathering and highlighted the cell’s mission to empower female physiotherapists through representation, leadership, and community support.
Interactive games and a lively stage were deftly managed by emcees Dr Kumkum Dey and Dr Shweta Deshlahara. Welcoming responsibilities were warmly undertaken by Dr Deepika and Dr Roma, ensuring that every guest from across Chhattisgarh felt at home. Mementos were presented to all dignitaries in a spirit of remembrance and respect.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Neha Batra, followed by an impromptu dance that turned the evening into a shared celebration.
