The party has organised a grand programme at Ambedkar Chowk, where senior BJP leaders, office bearers and party workers paid floral tributes to the statue of the social reformer and architect of the Indian Constitution.
District BJP President Ratnesh Sonkar, Member of Parliament Ashish Dubey, Rajya Sabha MP Sumitra Valmiki, MLA Ashok Rohani along with several senior party leaders, workers offered their respects to Dr Ambedkar by laying wreaths and garlands.
To mark the day, BJP’s city unit also organised celebrations across all 967 polling booths in the city. Party workers, senior citizens and locals shared views on Dr. Ambedkar’s life and legacy during the programme. A collective reading of the Preamble to the Constitution was also held.
Speaking during the main event, District President Ratnesh Sonkar highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s monumental contributions in the 20th century that played a pivotal role in dismantling the social injustices originating from centuries of oppression. It is due to his vision and tireless efforts that India today stands as the world’s largest democracy, added Sonkar.
