The Jheel Mahotsav is making waves not just with adventure sports, but also as a unique cultural and tourism attraction. Held near the vast waters of the Bargi Dam, the festival has become a magnet for people of all ages, offering over 18 thrilling water, land and air-based activities in Deori Bakai village, a picturesque village on the banks of the Narmada River in Mandla district.
Organized by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board and the Jabalpur Archaeology, Tourism & Culture Council, the festival features an array of adrenaline-pumping options for visitors from jet skiing, banana rides, water scooters, kayaking and surfing, to hot air balloon rides, paramotoring, and parasailing, which provide breathtaking views of the dam and surrounding natural beauty.
For adventure lovers on land, the excitement continues with activities like sling shots, rock climbing, valley crossing and zorbing balls, all adding to the vibrant energy of the festival.
As the sun sets, the thrill transitions into an evening of cultural celebration. On Sunday, the cultural night featured a mesmerizing performance by the Dheeraj Sharma Group, captivating the audience with melodious songs.
To provide a comfortable stay close to nature, a Swiss Tent City has been set up in the scenic hills of Bargi.
The tents combine modern amenities with the raw beauty of nature, offering a unique experience. The organizers have also ensured high standards of food, safety, and cleanliness.
To raise awareness about the facilities and adventure sports available at the Jheel Mahotsav, and to promote messages of environmental conservation and road safety, a bike rally was organized from Bhanwartal Garden. The rally passed through major city routes before concluding at the festival venue in Deori Bakai.
