SANJAY Ramaswamy celebrated his birthday by hitting an unbeaten 103 and shared a fabulous 250-run partnership for the first wicket with Siddhesh Wath (140) to put Indian Gymkhana on top against Anurag Cricket Club, Kamptee on opening day of their three-day group league match of MN Dorairajan Trophy on Tuesday. After Devesh Charote (7-57) had run through Anurag CC’s first innings, dismissing them for 168, Indian Gymkhana’s opening pair ran riot at the NSSM ground (1). Ramaswamy’s 103 came off 99 deliveries with 15 boundaries, while Wath’s 140 came off 98 balls with 23 boundaries and three sixes. As a result Gymkhana lead by 91 runs with 9 wickets standing. Another notable performance came from the bat of Ranji player Aman Mokhade, who made 106 as the Ministerial Services Sports Club (MSSC) dominated the proceedings against Advocate XI.

 

Shantanu Chikhale made 42 runs and claimed 6-63 to put Navniketan CC in control over VMV CC. Shree Choudhary also turned in a fine all-round show -- 4-72 with the ball and 47 with the bat to ensure a slender first innings lead for Reshimbagh Gymkhana against Ruby Colts.
