Congress leader Naveen Choudhary from Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh had a narrow escape during the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on Tuesday. Choudhary (45), belonging to Chourai Assembly constituency, had gone on a vacation to Kashmir with his friends. He is a Block Congress Kisan leader in Chhindwara district. Naveen Choudhary said that at the time of the attack he was making a reel at a tourist spot in Pahalgam. He said, “Initially I thought that crackers were bursting somewhere”. Naveen Chaudhary’s son Manthan said that his father had gone to Jammu and Kashmir on April 20 with three of his friends.
 
He was present at the spot when the attack took place on April 22 at 2:30 pm. Two hours after the attack, at around 5 pm, he called home and informed that he was safe. Naveen Chaudhary’s nephew Swami Patel said that he had spoken a day before the incident, when he spoke to his family, he had mentioned about visiting Pahalgam. After this, on Tuesday, my friend called me and told me that there has been an attack in Pahalgam, your uncle was on TV. After this, the family got worried but soon Naveen called to inform that he was completely safe. He was present at the place where the incident took place and the attackers were just a few steps away from him. On hearing the gun shots, initially first he felt that crackers were bursting, but as soon people understood that it was an attack, everyone ran away to save their lives. Right now he is completely safe in the Army base camp. He will return to Chhindwara in two to three days. Manthan said that his father told him on phone that he is currently in the base camp in Jammu. He also told that the Army’s activity has increased in the area, due to which road and air routes are closed.
 
He will return to Chhindwara in 2 to 3 days. Choudhary said that when he heard people shouting and running, he understood that it was a terrorist attack. While running to save his life, he made a video in selfie mode with his mobile phone, in which he is seen thanking God. In the video, he said that now only God can protect his life. After the attack, Choudhary and other tourists immediately left the spot and took shelter in the nearest Army camp.
