CITY girls Aaradhya Tiwari and Shreya Paradkar excelled in the recently held 10th World Yogasana Championship organised by the World Yoga Sports Federation in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Aaradhya dominated the Rhythmic Yoga category of sub-junior girls, clinching the yellow metal with ease, while the same was mirrored by her city-mate Shreya who won the gold medal in Traditional Yoga of cadet girls.
In the Champion of Champions title stand-off in Traditional Yoga category, India dominated again to clinch the gold in both boys and girls category.
Vanshika Pandit from Pune won the girls title while Atanu Halder of Kolkata grabbed the crown in boys section.
The Indian team clinched the overall title, while Thailand finished runners-up and Vietnamese occupied the third spot.
In total, the Indian team bagged 15 gold, 10 silver and three bronze medals in the Traditional category, while in Rhythmic category, a total of six gold and one silver medal were snatched.
Earlier, the competition was inaugurated by Vietnam Yoga Federation’s Miss Thao,
World Yoga Sports Federation’s Dr Shrikant Warankar, Chairman of All India Yoga Culture Federation Babul Vikas Pyatronabis and Treasurer Suresh Gandhi. Dr Pankaj Kunde and Anand Dabre were the technical officials.
For the team’s medal haul they are congratulated by Pramod Walmandare, Kishor Bagde Baba Dawre, Sachin Mathne, Sandip Mohanto, Lakshmikant Meshram, Saurabh Rangari and all the officers of All India Yoga Yoga Culture Federation and Vidarbha Yoga Association.
