Superintendent of Police Sampat Upadhyay (IPS) chaired a crime review meeting at the Police Control Room to review law and order arrangements and ensuring security during forthcoming festivals. Additional SPs Anand Kaladagi (City), Pallavi Shukla (Zone-2), Suryakant Sharma (Rural), Anjana Tiwari (Traffic), Jitendra Singh (Crime), along with all gazetted officers, police station and outpost in-charges attended the meeting.
The meeting focused on the review of serious crimes and pending investigations.
SP Upadhyay directed officers to prioritize the following, expedite pending cases related to murder, attempt to murder, loot, snatching, burglary, SC/ST Act violations, fraud, and crimes against women. Trace and recover all missing minors, especially under IPC 363 and BNS 137(2). Prompt disposal of complaints received via CM Helpline, senior offices, and public hearings. Ensure quick arrest of accused in crimes against women, followed by speedy investigations and charge sheets. SP directed the officers to intensify efforts to apprehend
absconding criminals, including those hiding outside the district. With Raksha Bandhan and other festivals approaching, he stressed robust security with deployment of additional forces at markets, railway stations, and bus stands.
Set up fixed security points and deploy plain-clothed teams to monitor suspicious activity. Conduct joint patrols with SDMs and Tehsildars; engage community leaders to prevent unrest. Identify and take preventive action against habitual offenders or potential troublemakers. He instructed all station heads to ensure riot control gear in government vehicles and respond promptly to all incidents. SP Upadhyay concluded by reiterating that the police must act impartially to maintain law and order, create public trust and deter criminal activity during the festive season.
