Congress workers, led by former MLA Vikas Upadhyay on Wednesday staged a protest in front of the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar located in Raipur Collectorate premises against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre regarding the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026.
The former MLA also wrote a letter to all BJP MPs and former BJP MPs regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. In the letter, Upadhyay said that the Women’s Reservation Bill was already passed in the Parliament.
But the BJP government at the Centre is spreading rumours regarding the women’s reservation bill, he added.
The Congress workers also raised slogans against the Central government.
Congress leaders Vikas Upadhyay, Pramod Choubey, Ashok Singh Thakur, Annu Ram Sahu, Devkumar Sahu, Prakash Jagat, Kamlakant Shukla, Om Sriwas, Birendra Shukla, Vikas Agrawal, Sandeep Katariya, Naresh Gadpal, Sandeep Sirmour, Gulab Choudhari, Vinod Bhakku Kashyap, Ajay Nishad, Hajroon Khan Bano, Shiv Shyam Shukla, Sukhdev Bhamara, Pammi Chomra, Sohan Sharma, Happy Bajwa, Mannu gill and other Congress leaders participated in the protest.
