A SUDDEN fire broke out in a
multi-storey apartment in the
Daldal Seoni area under Mowa
police station limits on Friday
afternoon, triggering panic
among residents. The incident,
reportedly caused by an air conditioner blast on the third floor,
left one youth injured but no loss
of life was reported.
According to preliminary
information, the fire occurred
around 1:30 pm in a six-storey
apartment near Sumit Wholesale,
owned by K Agarwal.
Eyewitnesses said a loud explosion was heard from an AC unit,
following which flames spread rapidly across the floor. Thick smoke soon engulfed the area, creating panic and forcing residents to rush out of their homes. Local
residents and occupants acted swiftly, evacuating the building before
the fire could spread further. During the rescue efforts, a young man
sustained injuries and was immediately provided first aid. On receiving the alert, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and began firefighting operations.
After nearly an hour of continuous effort, the
blaze was brought under control, preventing it from spreading to
adjacent flats. Officials stated that while no casualties were reported, the incident caused significant alarm. Preliminary findings point
towards a possible technical fault in the AC unit or electrical wiring
as the cause of the fire. Fire and police departments have initiated
a detailed investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
Authorities have urged residents to ensure regular maintenance of
electrical appliances, especially during the summer season, to prevent such mishaps
