After a closely fought contest, Advocate Prakash Jaiswal won the President’s post in the District Bar Association (DBA) elections, while Advocate Anil Gulhane emerged victorious for the Secretary’s post. The results were announced on Saturday at the Nyay Mandir premises, where jubilant supporters celebrated with slogans, sweets distribution and cheers. According to the final tally, Adv Prakash Jaiswal secured 1,218 votes while his closest rival Adv Nitin Deshmukh polled 1,144 votes. Adv Manoj Sable received 324 votes, while
 
Adv Rajesh Nayak (62), Adv Tarun Parmar (42), and Adv Sunil Lacharkar (32) trailed behind. In the Secretary’s race, Adv Anil H Gulhane won with 1,091 votes. Adv Amit Subhash Band came second with 684 votes, followed by Adv Aashish B Shende (549), Adv Ashish D Kataria (295), and Adv Nitinkumar V Rudey (193). A total of 35 votes were declared invalid.The elections, held on April 24, saw enthusiastic participation from lawyers. The contest had built up over days of intense campaigning. As the results were declared, the Nyay Mandir premises turned festive as supporters congratulated winners and expressed hope for positive changes in the association. Many lawyers said the outcome reflects a mix of experience and expectations for reform in the coming term.
