India’s Divyanshu Dewangan and Shambhavi Kshirsagar created history by winning the gold medal and setting a new world record at the ISSF World Cup 2026 held in Cairo, Egypt. The duo clinched the top position in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team Junior event with an outstanding score of 499.9.

 

Displaying remarkable consistency and composure throughout the competition, they outperformed strong international contenders and maintained their lead in the final rounds to secure victory. Their achievement has brought pride to the nation, especially to Chhattisgarh and the Dewangan community. Congratulatory messages have been pouring in from various quarters celebrating their success. Ghanshyam Kumar Dewangan, State Vice President of the Chhattisgarh Sarv Samaj Organization, described the victory as a proud moment for the country.
